According to the prophecies, Jesus would be born in Bethlehem. And he was! In Good Tidings, four classic authors detail the night the world's Savior was born, acclimating you historically to the time before and after the joyous event.

How should this needy world—and you—respond to the Savior's birth? With awe, joy, and belief.

About the Authors

T-DeWitt Talmage
THOMAS DE WITT TALMAGE (1832-1902) was born in Bound Brook, New Jersey. He received his education at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He held pastorates in the Reformed Church in America and the Presbyterian Church. He was one of the most prominent religious leaders in the United States during the mid to late 19th century, also preaching to crowds in England. During the 1860s and 70s he was a well known reformer in New York City and was often involved in crusades against vice and crime.

Charles-H Spurgeon
CHARLES H. SPURGEON (1834-1892) was known as England's most prominent preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. He preached his first sermon at the age of 16, and by 22, he was the most popular preacher of his day, habitually addressing congregations of six to ten thousand. In addition, he was active in philanthropic work and evangelism. Spurgeon is the author of numerous books, including All of Grace, Finding Peace in Life’s Storms, The Anointed Life, and Praying Successfully.

Joseph Parker
DR. JOSEPH PARKER (1830-1902) was a powerful pulpit voice in a day when great preachers impacted popular culture in a way seldom seen before or since. His ministry has endured into the 21st century largely through the massive record of an ambitious expository project. He set out to preach through the entire Bible in seven years and published the results. It is still available today, most recently published as Preaching Through the Bible (in 14 volumes).
