About the Authors

JOHN SMED is the founding director of Prayer Current, an organization that helps leaders make multiplying disciples through prayer and evangelism. Since 2000 John and his team have developed prayer training materials and conferences for church planters, pastors, and network teams in North America, Cuba, India, China, and Russia. His book 7 Days of Prayer with Jesus has been translated into ten languages. His conviction for prayer was born out of thirty years of experience in church planting and urban mission.

John and his wife Caron have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and live in Lake Country, British Columbia, Canada.

JUSTINE WHANG is the training director for Prayer Current. With a background in communications and adult education, she designs curriculum and conferences to catalyze learning that is experiential and transformative. She coaches leaders to lead prayer in a way that is dynamic, creative, and systemic in their unique organizational context. As an artist, Justine loves to facilitate calligraphy workshops as a way to creatively explore prayer and connect with creatives and spiritual seekers.

LEAH YIN (MA, Counseling; Missio Seminary) was the creative art director during the launch of Prayer Current. With a background in branding, communication design, illustration, and counseling, she loves bringing Gospel truths to life through visual storytelling and leading small groups. Her goal is to inspire and support this generation of prayer warriors and worshipers to move into deeper intercession for Gospel healing to reach traumatized and vulnerable population groups.
