Endorsements

This book is desperately needed and long overdue.  Anyone in a "ready-made" family will find biblical guidance in its pages for overcoming some of the most difficult and complicated relationships of our age.  Maxine Marsolini not only knows first hand about the gritty problems blended families face, she knows how to solve them.
-Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott, Seattle Pacific University, Authors of Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts

As never before in our nation's history, formerly marrieds are remarrying to form blended families.  Most of these well-intentioned couples have no idea of the potential conflicts and hurt they may be opening to themselves, their children, and other loved ones.  As a counselor, I have longed for effective ways to help couples better anticipate the impact of their remarriage, as well as assist those who are currently struggling with blended families.  Maxine Marsolini's new book
Blended Families should be required reading for couples considering remarriage.  In her book, Maxine reveals the journey she and her husband Charlie have taken since joining their families over twenty years ago.  In a transparent way, she reveals how God turned shock and confusion into faith and family blessing.  Do not get remarried without reading this book!

Many factors complicate life for remarried people.  Any really helpful book on the subject has to recognize and address a range of subjects.  Maxine Marsolini's book does not disappoint.  It offers much of value from her own personal experience as well as from research and the experiences of other remarrieds.  "Who's in Charge?" the chapter on sticky issues involving discipline of each other's children, gives great insights.  This chapter alone is worth the price of the book.  I found myself wishing all couples--remarried or not--could read it.  I could say the same with regard to other chapters, such as "The Influence of Guilt and Shame."  Blended Families can help those who are remarried to become truly blended and not just mixed up.
-Stanley C. Baldwin

Blended Families is a comprehensive book that covers every topic that blended families will face.  Though I am not in a blended family, I found Maxine Marsolini's book practical, inspiring, and Biblically based.  Her book will be helpful for every family and marriage.  I particularly appreciated her chapter on coping with anger.  I'm sure you'll find this book refreshing and stimulating.  After reading it, you'll think, "Yes, we can love each other--even as a blended family."
