Product Description

We must surrender our motherhood to the One who never fails—even though we often fail.

Motherhood is a gift. It's beautiful and meaningful work. But raising imperfect humans can also be exhausting and leave you depleted. Social media has only increased the pressure to look good and be the perfect mom. But what is a "good" mom? And why does it seem like the lives of others are shinier and easier than yours? Fellow mom and friend Hallie Dye understands the motivation to be a mom who never fails (yet feels like she's always failing).

In You're Still a Good Mom, Hallie dismantles our faulty expectations of motherhood and replaces them with an understanding of who you are in Christ and who He calls you to be. Raising kids brings out our weaknesses. You can feel as though no matter how hard you try, you're not the mom you imagined you'd be.

Hallie shows the way of surrendering motherhood. Through real life stories and a biblical foundation, readers learn how to navigate failures so that they can raise children who see their need for a good and perfect Savior. Writing on truth, compassion, grief, grace, dreams, and much more, the author speaks to moms right where they're at. You will find real hope in what God defines as faithful and good and be robustly affirmed that You're Still a Good Mom.

Endorsements

"I have had a front seat to the life of Hallie Dye as a teacher, a principal, a family friend—to adult friendships and a sister in Christ. And now with this unvarnished look into the heart of a woman—I now sit at her feet. I have read it twice already. Tears fell as I recognized her universal story of motherhood meshed literally with every one of us who walk in Christ while our own humanity trips us up. Hallie was always one of the most direct and sincere children I taught in my thirty plus years teaching. I now smile and see—it was a gift from God to teach in a straightforward and honest way. The book is a gift to women of all ages. Drink deeply. This is living water."
—Jayme Stokes, mom, Nana, teacher, gardener, Jesus follower

"Mothering is tough. Hallie gets that. In her book, she squarely takes on Mother Guilt—that plague of all mothers who know they are imperfect parents. That is, all of us. Even though my youngest reached adulthood thirteen years ago, I felt my own Mother Guilt melt away as I read this insightful book. Clinging to Jesus alone gives me my value as a mother, as a human, as a daughter of God. Thank you, Hallie, for blazoning this truth."
—Amy Givler, MD, writer at amygivler.com and author of Hope in the Face of Cancer: A Survival Guide for the Journey You Did Not Choose

"My mother soul did not know it had so many cracks and crevices that needed the deep shalom of God to heal some nagging doubts. What a beautiful gift to families God has given us in these pages. Thank you, Hallie, for saying yes to this assignment."
—Lu Ann Butler, a seasoned mom, stepmom, and grandmother

"You're Still a Good Mom is a compilation of wisdom, grace, and love that is given by the heavenly Father within motherhood. This book is an invitation by Hallie to view motherhood through the lens of our good God. Imagine having a hard motherhood day and you're sitting across the table from a friend, hot latte in hand, just letting it steamroll out. The said friend is revealing wisdom and encouragement for you to take hold of. Immediately, you feel a weight lifted and much, much lighter with every word shared—this is what the book did for me."
—Alyson Owen, mom of three elementary children, writer, follower of Jesus

"In the book You're Still a Good Mom, Hallie does a brilliant job of leading us to the truth of the gospel through motherhood. It looks our fear of failure as a mom right in the eyes and exposes the lie it is. I can personally attest to these truths she so beautiful writes. Hallie's wisdom and words have always encouraged me to keep my eyes on the Lord, abide in Him, and in turn changed my motherhood. These gospel truths have shaped who I am as a mother and how I see our good Father. Hallie has brought these truths to me in moments of darkness and doubt throughout motherhood. She has brought them in moments of celebration; she has offered encouragement in times I didn't even know to ask for it. She does this exact thing here in these pages. Hallie lovingly challenges us to fix our eyes on Jesus, not this culture, looking to Him, the One who has called and prepared our roles for us. I am so thankful Hallie will now be able to do this for so many women out there. If you're a mom, this book is a must-read."
—Erica Johnson, physical therapist, mom of two

"Motherhood is a sweet and challenging season that can sanctify us daily—if that's what we seek. Godly friendships have been a huge piece of morphing my motherhood into an experience that sharpens me, challenges me, and spurs me on to the Lord. Hallie has been that friend to me and through these pages, Hallie is that friend for you. I'm so thankful that her heart, humor, and wisdom has made it into your hands. What a gift to share my friend with you! Prepare to be challenged, validated, seen, and for a few belly laughs as we learn and continually remind ourselves that our motherhood isn't pass or fail—it's surrender to the One who never fails us."
—Emily Jones, PhKD, LPC-S, LMTF-S, mom of 2

"I have never felt so seen! Hallie takes the hard and hidden parts of motherhood straight to the feet of the King and truly shares life, abundant life, with her readers. As a mom with two kids in the depths of struggle and exhaustion, this book has reintroduced the gospel, the favor and grace of Jesus, to my tired soul."
—Clara Crossland, mom of two toddlers

"This isn't another book that will send you spiraling and striving to be perfect. It's also not a book that will permit you to throw your hands up and surrender to the lie that taking care of yourself is all that matters. This is a book that points you back to Jesus. It reminds you that through Him, you have been made perfect. So, you can surrender this family you've been called to steward to Him and trust His grace is sufficient for you. Your peak mothering moments aren't enough to make you perfect, but His sacrifice is. Equally important, your worst mothering moments aren't enough to exhaust His grace. Whether you're a new mom, a seasoned mom, a mom in waiting, or just a human exhausted with striving to be 'enough,' there's truth in these pages for you."
—Laura Katzenmeyer, attorney, mom of two, special needs mom

"If you are a mom, this is an absolute must-read! As a Christian mom of littles, this book was such a necessary reminder that I was never meant to be limitless. God created us with limitations to remind us that only God can truly sustain us through all the seasons of motherhood. From cover to cover, Hallie makes you feel seen and validated while also speaking truth and life into one of the hardest callings. The message in this book is life giving because it reminds us to look to the Giver of life in all things."
—Lindsay Stagg, COO of Saltworks Ministries, mom of two

"My children are grown and I'm now a grandmother. But even in recent years, I've sometimes raised this question in my mind. 'Was I a good mom?' The Lord used this book to speak into my doubts. I wish I'd had it when I was raising my children. Thank you for writing this book, Hallie. There is a blessing in it for all moms. Yours included."
—Sharon Evans, mom of three, grandmother of nine, Hallie's mom

"You're Still a Good Mom unbinds the chords of haunting failure in motherhood with the truth and peace of Scripture. In an age of suffocating perfectionism, Hallie's perspective of godly motherhood highlights the beauty and need for the redemptive narrative. It is a deep breath in hope and prose."
—Lindsay E. King, SLP-CCC, mom of three teens, Hallie's sister
