The Ryrie Study Bible, first published in 1978, has sold more than 2 million copies. Containing more than 10,000 of Dr. Ryrie’s explanatory notes, the Bible is available in the NIV, NASB and KJV.
Dr. Ryrie was ordained by the First Baptist Church in Alton, Illinois. He spent five years at Westmont College, first as a professor and later as Dean of Men and Chairman of Biblical Studies and Philosophy. In 1958 he became the president of Philadelphia College of Bible (now Philadelphia Biblical University). He spent most of his career at Dallas Theological Seminary, where he served as Systematic Theology Chair and Dean of Doctoral Studies. He was professor emeritus there toward the end of his career.
