Who is the Holy Spirit anyway?
We sing songs about Him. We've seen His name in the Bible. And most of us know He's a part of the Trinity, but misunderstandings, confusion, and contention abound. And it's keeping us from the abundant, satisfying life God has for us.
The solution? We need a biblical understanding of the Holy Spirit. Transforming Presence walks you through ten vital practices that will help you have a new experience of the Holy Spirit. You'll learn how our relationship with the Holy Spirit changed from the Old Testament to the New Testament, what common misconceptions of the Holy Spirit are, and how to think, speak, (and sing) rightly about Him.
It can be hard to discern what's right and wrong in a world of gray scales, differing preferences, and emotional highs, but when we start with the Bible, all the secondary things fall into place.
Discover the transformational, personal, and joyful relationship that comes from meeting the Holy Spirit on His own terms.
In Transforming Presence, Daniel Henderson offers an excellent resource that calls us to examine our biases about the Holy Spirit and to return to submission to the Holy Spirit's leadership in our lives. This book allows for individuals with a variety of backgrounds to come together and seek the glory of God in their lives. As a collegiate minister, this resource is helping my students learn to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in accordance with the Scripture. Highly recommended!
An insightful book that talks about the inside-out work of the indwelling Spirit that transforms us to make us more Christlike. Henderson talks about how Jesus said the Spirit will take all that is His and make it real to us. He gives a challenging view on how the Holy Spirit is personal and emotional. A book to challenge you. I ask that you read this book!
I just bought the book 2 days ago.... I am so encouraged by what I have read so far and I believe we would have a revival if this was a part of the church again.
I felt I was having a hard time assimulating this, but found out today that I am comprehending what is being imparted.
Thank you for suggesting this book on a Facebook post. God is marvelous in our eyes.
So encouraged Sharon Coatney. I give this book 5 stars easy!
