Heather Holleman used to live a fragile life, a prisoner to fear, anxiety, and despair. Like many younger women, she knew Jesus, but she wasn't strong in Him. Her search for comfort seemed unending.
Then one day, while reading a simple statement in Scripture, “God guards the lives of his faithful ones” (Psalm 97:10), that all began to change.
In Guarded by Christ: Knowing the God Who Rescues and Keeps Us, Heather guides women through a series of practical mental shifts that immensely helped her live strong in the Lord. Learn how in Jesus, you are guarded:
Heather Holleman has written another winning, beautiful book.
If you struggle with anxiety, worry, or fear, you need to read this book. I have had my share of struggling with those things. Oftentimes, I deal with them on a daily basis. Yet, God desires peace for you. This book is an excellent reminder of that truth. Through the words of this book, Holleman shares biblical truth, taken straight from Scripture, to show that God will quiet your soul. Just as the Psalmist says, "be still and know that I am God", He desires that for you. You are guarded by Him...and He is for you. You can have victory with Jesus.
As with her other books, Holleman writes with honesty and authenticity. And this is another must-read!
In her book, Guarded by Christ, Heather Holleman shares how believing the truth of God's promises to guard and protect our souls no matter what life brings gives hope and assurance for everyday life. Holleman writes from a place of surrender to the Lord, as she learned to give over to the Lord her own personal struggle with anxiety and worry, and instead hold fast to the precious truth that no matter what, as believers we can have hope "because it is well with our souls." She teaches her readers how to mediate and dwell on the truth of Scripture through the cognitive strategy of visualization and dwelling on the many rich and precious promises depicted by imagery in Scripture.
As someone who continually struggles with anxiety and worry, this book has been the most helpful book I have read in teaching me how to cling to the promises of God instead of the anxieties of my heart. This is a book I will continue to reread as the years go by and is a must read for anyone who struggles with anxiety, fear, condemnation, and depression. Holleman encourages her readers through a careful study of Scripture to take their eyes off of their circumstances and instead dwell in the reality of peace and hope we can have in our souls because of the Cross.
