J. Paul Nyquist

Dr. Paul Nyquist was the 9th president of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago—a higher education and media ministry founded by evangelist D. L. Moody in 1886. With his theological training, pastoral heart, and more than 30 years of ministry leadership and pastoral experience, Nyquist led Moody across the globe, cultures, and generations to equip people with the truth of God's Word.

Additionally, Dr. Nyquist has served on the board of directors for the National Association of Evangelicals, Avant Ministries, Philadelphia Biblical University, and CrossGlobal Link, and he taught as an adjunct professor at Grace University in Omaha, NE, and Phoenix Seminary in Scottsdale, AZ

Prior to coming to Moody, Nyquist served as president and CEO of Avant, an international church planting missions agency. He was also the senior pastor of churches in Des Moines, IA, and Omaha, NE. Nyquist graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a BS in architectural studies and he received his ThM and a PhD in systematic theology from Dallas Theological Seminary
