Grace is the credential that lets us park close to people's hearts. When Christ calls a pastor He instills a kind of heightened instinct for grace; what we call a shepherd's heart. However, pastors often become disoriented by leadership demands, congregational expectation, and the wounds of ministry. They forget how to use the grace of Christ in the everyday work of pastoring.

Through striking word pictures and stories that resonate with every pastor, this book will reinvigorate pastors' instincts for practicing grace in the churches they shepherd. Whether you are training to be a pastor and wondering if you are called, a seasoned shepherd needing encouragement and affirmation, or simply someone who wants to encourage your pastor, you will appreciate the sage wisdom and confirmation poured out in the pages of Pastoral Graces.

Pastors need grace to shepherd with grace. That is the heart of Lee Eclov’s little book, Pastoral Graces. For eleven chapters weary and/or rookie shepherds get to listen in as a seasoned pastor shares his reflections on over 30 years of pastoral ministry. At times the reader is strongly exhorted and other times he is warmly comforted. Through every page you know that you are hearing from a God-besought pastor. http://www.mikeleake.net/2012/09/quick-review-of-pastoral-graces-by-lee.html

The book's strength comes from Pastor Eclov's use of very real experiences from his own ministry. It provides evidence that he knows what he is talking about. The book is recommended for the pastor in training and for the experienced pastor seeking some refreshment for his or her ministry. Pastors will resonate with a lot of what Eclov wrote. In fact, the weary pastor will be very encouraged merely to recognize a familiar thread throughout the book: the pastor who dispenses grace needs grace as well to serve grace. God has prepared for us a beautiful and wonderful kingdom in heaven. Each practice of grace on our part is a gratitude for God's promises, not only in the past or present, but very much in the future. booksaint.blogspot.ca/2012/05/pastoral-graces-lee-eclov.html
