In Harvest of Gold (Book 2) the scribe Sarah married Darius, and at times she feels as if she has married the Persian aristocracy, too. There is another point she did not count on in her marriage-Sarah has grown to love her husband. Sarah has wealth, property, honor, and power, but her husband's love still seems unattainable.

Although his mother was an Israelite, Darius remains skeptical that his Jewish wife is the right choice for him, particularly when she conspires with her cousin Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Ordered to assist in the effort, the couple begins a journey to the homeland of his mother's people. Will the road filled with danger, conflict, and surprising memories, help Darius to see the hand of God at work in his life-and even in his marriage?

A hidden message, treachery, opposition, and a God-given success, will lead to an unlikely bounty.

Tessa Afshar has done much research to present the reader with an accurate portrayal of life during the days of Nehemiah. She paints in detail the cost of betrayal, the value of forgiveness and the necessity of faithfulness. I found the historical highlights regarding life in the king’s court and life in Jerusalem fascinating. I would definitely consider reading another book by this author. http://www.bookbazinga.blogspot.com/

Tessa Afshar has taken my breath away with the beauty and depth of her latest novel. This is a gripping story of loss, love, and forgiveness with many an arresting moment that caused me to think deeply about my own marriage as well as my devotion to God. I recommend it not only for the beautiful storytelling but also for the incisive lessons to be learned. Tessa has cemented her place as one of my most favourite authors. http://relzreviewz.com/harvest-of-rubies-by-tessa-afshar-with-giveaway-2/

It exceeded my expectations. I tried to savor each page so I would not finish it so quickly but I just couldn't put it down until I completed it! Tessa Afshar has the ability to write Biblical fiction that not only has suspense, romance and an engaging plot. Thanks Tessa for writing novels that not only entertain us but touch/ speak to our hearts through God's Spirit. I loved this book! I can't wait for Tessa Afshar next novel! http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/595528965

I don’t like biblical fiction. But I believe my heart is turning on this matter, and Ms. Afshar is playing a HUGE part in it! The characters were very well developed and written. Their chemistry with each other was realistic and persuasive…and charming. I believe Ms. Afshar writes with the Holy Spirit’s guidance—and I don’t say that lightly. I highly recommend this book. It’s just beautiful to savor. http://readingbetweenthecovers.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/review-harvest-of-gold-by-tessa-afshar/

Ms. Afshar uses Biblical anecdotes and actual Biblical quotations strategically placed throughout the story. The characters are well developed and together with the plot create an endearing story which is uplifting and enlightening. She has a simple yet attention grabbing writing style. Harvest of Gold has a wonderful ending thus leading to great anticipation of the next installment of Ms.Afshar's work. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/571000129
