An Anchor for the Soul book review

July 11, 2011

An Anchor for the Soul is reviewed by Dr. R. Wayne Hagerman, in the Cover to Cover section of the July/August 2011 Living Light News. The review is below courtesy of Living Light News, Edmonton, Aberta (Canada).

This book is an updated reprint of Ray Prichard’s earlier book (2000), by the same title, which has obviously made such an impact it’s been brought back once again. It is a book that answers some very important questions about God, knowing Him personally, having one’s sins forgiven, what it means to be Christian, finding peace with God, and being sure of Heaven. It is based, as Pritchard says, “on two facts. First, you were made to know God and you can’t and won’t be truly satisfied until you know Him personally. Second, the Bible tells us how we can know God personally.” That, in a nutshell is exactly what this book is about. It is both concise and yet at the same time, deeply thorough. It answers these meaningful and tough questions with clarity, precision, and warmth. It is one of those books that calls a person back again and again to reread its contents, and drink in its valuable lessons. Each chapter comes with an exercise enabling the reader to go deeper on each topic. This book is a keeper. Reviewed by Dr. R. Wayne Hagerman
